Forever Yoga 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training & (new!) Knowledge Immersion Program
We are proud to announce our 2018 Teacher Training & Knowledge Immersion program at Forever Yoga!
Our teacher training is based on Yoga Alliance 200 hour standards for certification, but goes far beyond the required minimum to allow you to have a firm foundation to stand on should you choose to teach upon completion. We believe it takes time and concentrated attention to grow into the best teacher you can become. While 200 hour training is just the beginning of this journey, we seek to give you the time and attention you need to develop your skills, to know yourself more deeply and to become the kind of teacher we know you can be.
Our 200 hour teacher training is open to students of yoga with at least one year of consistent practice and experience in asana, pranayama and meditation with a qualified teacher. Written application is required for admission. The total training consists of over 300+ hours of training and practice. We will cover the following areas:
- Techniques, training and practice of asanas, pranayamas, kriyas, chanting, mantra, meditation and more. You will be guided through the practice of these techniques and learn how to effectively share them with others.
- Teaching Methodology including communication skills, establishing priorities and boundaries, how to teach special populations including pre-natal and the elderly, principles of demonstration, observation and assisting, embodying the qualities of a teacher and the business of yoga.
- Anatomy and Physiology of the human physical and energetic bodies including how this knowledge relates to the healthy and safe practice and instruction of asana and pranayama.
- Yoga philosophy, lifestyle and ethics for Yoga Teachers to ground your teaching and practice in the ancient wisdom traditions of yoga.
- Practicum teaching, assisting and observing a variety of classes over the course of the program.
- Guided self study including personal practice, reading texts, taking classes, practice teaching, and written homework assignments to allow you to process and integrate what you learn in each training day.
- Development of your personal sadhana (spiritual practice) through group and individual practice and vedic ceremony.
NEW THIS YEAR! KNOWLEDGE IMMERSION TRACK
Becoming a teacher isn’t for everyone. But maybe you are such a sincere student of yoga that you wish to learn more in a way that only teacher training provides, without the pressures of meeting the requirements to be a teacher. This year we are pleased to offer for the first time a separate “track” of our teacher training program to satisfy this need.
Knowledge Immersion Track students will be just as much a part of the training as Teacher Track students but with more flexibility. You have the option to participate as much or as little as you’d like in each training day’s activities and are encouraged to help support Teacher Track students by allowing them to practice their skills with you. Knowledge Immersion Track follows a shortened schedule of September through March.
While only one session is required for this track, we think you would greatly benefit by being sure to attend the following:
- Opening Night Puja and more September 7th (required)
- All Wednesday evening sessions as they focus on yoga philosophy
- Most Saturday and Sunday afternoon sessions
You may also consider participation in the Friday evening sessions. They will focus on breaking down the asana from the perspective of the teacher, but could be of great benefit and interest.
To create a balanced group, Knowledge Immersion Track spaces in the program may be limited. You are encouraged to apply early for best assurance of participation.
Please note: If you should change your mind at some point during the program and wish to pursue the Teacher Track you will need to make up all required work and pay an additional $600.00 fee. Depending on the time the decision is made, this may not be possible during the current training cycle. You should do your best to be sure you do not wish to pursue certification when you enter the program. Should that change, a meeting with the lead trainer should be arranged and all decisions of the lead trainer in this matter are final.
About the Training Days
In studio training occurs during one full weekend and one week night per month. Hours for each day are Fridays 7-9:30pm, Saturdays 8am-6pm, Sundays 8am-6pm, Wednesdays 7-9pm. Training Dates for 2018-2019

About Your Trainers
Jessica M. Lang Wright, ERYT200, LVCYT, owner of Forever Yoga – Jessica has been the owner and principal teacher at Forever Yoga since opening the studio July 1st, 2012, logging over 2,000 hours of teaching. Jessica completed her 200 hour training at Naturally Yoga in Glen Rock, NJ before moving to Manchester, NH in 2011 to pursue her dream of teaching yoga full time. Before leaving the NY metro area, Jessica had already begun to deepen her studies by completing training in Lakshmi Volker Chair Yoga and then assisting with LVCY training at Kripalu that same year. She has continued to deepen her understanding of yoga and improve her teaching skills by completing additional training with Sadie Nardini’s Rockstar Teacher Training in 2013, Josh Summer’s Yin Yoga Training Intensive Module 1 in 2014, in addition to many other workshops with various teachers. At the time of this writing, Jessica is currently studying to become a certified Mantra Teacher with Sanatana Dharma Satsang and has plans to become a vedic priest through the same organization.
You can read more about Jessica's yoga journey and read testimonials about her teaching HERE.
Heather Horton, NH Lic Massage Therapist, Reg. Yoga Teacher – Heather began her career in the holistic health field in 1999 when she received her NH massage therapy license after completing her training as a certified Kriya Massage Therapist at DoveStar Institute in Hooksett, NH. In addition to massage and bodywork, her training at the time included meditation and mindfulness techniques. While she dabbled with her own personal practice since the late 90’s, her passion for yoga was sparked in 2010 when she ‘rediscovered’ yoga to manage her own anxiety and stress. Her personal experience with yoga and meditation, combined with her knowledge and understanding of the body-mind connection prompted her to deepen her practice by completing her yoga teacher training certification in 2014. Through out her years of private massage practice she has augmented her initial training with hundreds of hours of continuing education classes, ranging from Orthopedic Massage, Thai Massage, and Somatic therapies to advanced training in Anatomy and Physiology.
Heather believes that movement is medicine and is excited to share with you what she has learned in her years of exploring massage, yoga, and somatic therapies. She also believes that a strong foundation in Anatomy and Physiology will not only enhance, but make for a safer asana practice for both you and your students.
Heather’s current teaching interests include restorative, yin, and gentle, flowing yoga classes often include somatic movement therapies. She is also currently pursuing her certification as a Corrective Exercise Specialist. Heather lives in Manchester and when she is not busy with her private practice she can be found keeping her hands busy gardening, knitting and making pottery.
